Privacy notice

Who we are

Calibre Inc ("Calibre", "we") is a digital product studio that designs and builds custom apps for businesses. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice, under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us through the contact form, WhatsApp, phone or email:

• your name and, if you give it, your business name;
• your email address and, if you give it, your phone or WhatsApp number;
• what you tell us about the product you need.

Our hosting provider also processes basic technical data, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Why we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and, if you go ahead, prepare a proposal. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask us to.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If we add any in future, we will update this notice first.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers (operators) to run the site and our communication:

• Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website and its contact form;
• our email providers, which deliver contact form messages and emails to our inbox;
• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.

Some of these providers store information on servers in other countries. We only use providers that are bound by data protection terms that give your information a level of protection comparable to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and to manage any project that follows. If no project follows, we delete them within 12 months. Records linked to a project are kept for as long as the law requires.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to enquiries is limited to the people at Calibre who need it to reply to you.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us:

• whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
• to correct or update it;
• to delete it, if we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
• to stop using it, or object to how we use it.
